How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home (3 Easy Methods)
Updated
Method 1: Use the online ring sizer (fastest)
Calibrate your screen, then lay a ring that fits on our online ring sizer. Resize the circle until it sits on the ring's inside edge and read your US, UK and EU size.
Method 2: Measure a ring's inside diameter
Lay the ring on the cm ruler and measure straight across the inside, edge to edge, in millimeters. Then use: US size ≈ (diameter − 11.63) ÷ 0.813. A 17.3 mm ring is about a US 7.
Method 3: Paper strip around your finger
Wrap a thin strip of paper snugly around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure that length in millimeters. That's your circumference, which is also your EU size (54 mm ≈ EU 54 ≈ US 7).
Tips for the right fit
- Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are largest.
- Avoid measuring when cold, since fingers shrink.
- Wide bands (6 mm+) fit tighter, so go up a quarter to half size.
- Make sure it slides over your knuckle.
For expensive rings, confirm with a jeweler before ordering.
